Peter Stewart June Weather Stats for S. E. Northumberland
COMMENTS: Although the rainfall and HU averages don't show it, it sure
is dry. 76% of our rainfall for June came by the 5th. We had 7 mm on
the 30th and watched 25 mm fall within 2 km north and east. Corn is
very variable. Corn that has been stressed by weeds or by planting too
wet is looking tough. Most stands look good, but colour is quite
variable in a lot of fields.
Beans are wilting on the gravel and sand and need a rain. Some second
cut hay has been harvested and what is left has stopped growing.
Wheat is changing fast and does not look too bad.
